SNS Deco Divas - Love Is In the Air Blog Hop

Welcome to my stop on the hop - so glad you stopped by!  Hopefully you've just come from Barbara's great blog.  If not, you might want to hop back to the start at the SNS blog so you can get all the details for this hop (great prizes will be awarded!) and that way you won't miss any of the great designs!

For this hop we've got all types of romance & divas, so I decided to focus on some "less" romantic cards for your other loved ones on Valentine's Day.  Today I have Valentines for you to make for a child and for a friend - Love is in the Air!

This adorable little card would be the perfect greeting to give "Daddy's Girl" on Valentine's Day. (And what mom wouldn't be happy to help daddy out by making this cute little card for him to give!)  I remember my dad always gave me a box of candy and a card every Valentine's Day. And I would have loved receiving a bright and sparkly card like this!

But....I also purposely kept this card fairly simple because I thought it would also make a great card to give to a father from "Daddy's Little Girl".  My daughter is still pretty young, but she knows how to use all my crafty supplies.  And as soon as I made this card, she wanted to do one of her own!  And I'm always happy to let her join in - I love that she has already learned that a handmade card really comes from the heart!

Maybe you or the little girl in your life would like to make a card like this for... OR from Daddy's little girl!  Full instructions & a supply list for this card can be found in the SNS Gallery here..

And don't forget your dear friends this Valentine's Day either.  This lovely Tea Set card is such a nice way to let a dear friend know that they're in your heart on Valentine's Day - or any day!

The saying on this was done in one of SNS's newer embossing powders - Winter Berry.  There are sooo many great new embossing powders at SNS recently!  You're sure to find some new favorites like I did!  (I'm sure I'll be mentioning some of the others in future posts!)  Full instructions for this card can also be found in the SNS gallery - here.

Well I hope you enjoyed my Valentine's for some of the other loved ones in your life!  Now you better get hoppin' on to your next stop on the hop.  Don't forget to leave a comment before you hop on by though.  I'm so excited to be able to direct you to one of our newer design team members who is joining us for her first hop with SNS.  Hop on over to the lovely Lana's Sweet Pea's Paper Creations to see what she has to share on her blog!  Enjoy the rest of the hop!   And thanks for joining us today!!

Until next time!
***Julie***

I'm new to card making and these two cards are such perfect inspiration for me. My granddaughter LOVES pink and I think she would love to make the first card for her daddy and a friend of mine loves tea. The tea pot stamp is sweet and your layout works with it beautifully.

Darling cards, Julie! The pretty glitter around the edges of the scallop punch work very well with the metallic ribbon edges! Like you, I enjoy sending Valentine cards to friends. Both your cards look especially rich with the dry embossing! Thanks for sharing!

Very cute! I always appreciate seeing the embossed backgrounds. I personally don't have any way to make them (maybe some day) but I love to look at the finished product.

Your little girl card is just precious! You may think it's fairly simple, but it's packed with beautiful elements.
I love how you made the little tea pot set a focal point on your card - what a great example of how to use something small to create a large impact!
